Scottsdale, Arizona-based Emerge, a provider of its proprietary Digital Freight Marketplace (DFM) and TMS focused on accelerating productivity and increasing visibility for supply chain stakeholders and freight procurement, recently announced, that it has tapped DAT Freight & Analytics, operator of the largest North American-based truckload freight marketplace, with a database of $137 billion in annual market transactions, as the exclusive branded truckload rate benchmarking service for Emerge’s Dynamic RFP platform.

Atlanta-based Nolan Transportation Group (NTG), a provider of non-asset, tech-enabled logistics and brokerage services, and a subsidiary of Transportation Insight, and San Francisco-based freight forwarding and customs brokerage services provider Flexport, said they are collaborating on a strategic partnership focused on integrating their respective technologies, with a focus on “greater visibility across supply chains.”

The company said that this new office will help to expand Emerge’s North American presence, along with its Scottsdale headquarters and Boulder, Colorado location, in order to “expand coverage for its growing and diversified customer base” and shipper and carrier service offerings.

Blue Yonder, a leading provider of digital supply chain and omni-channel commerce fulfillment software solutions, announced this week that Duncan Angove has been named as CEO, effective immediately.

Memphis-based global freight transportation and logistics services provider FedEx and Chicago-based FourKites, a provider of real-time tracking and visibility solutions across transportation modes and digital platforms announced that they have partnered up for a strategic alliance on a new supply chain visibility offering, which connects key data insights from each of their respective networks.

Entitled Emerge Benchmarking, the company explained that this Machine Learning (ML)-enabled product updates and aggregates freight industry data from “numerous trusted sources,” equipping shippers with real-time business intelligence and market insights, in order to quickly evaluate options and also make informed decisions.

The company said that this TMS is part of its Beon digital logistics platform, which was released in early March.

Entitled Beon, TI said that this new platform gives shippers and carriers a single point of access to access both TI’s and Atlanta-based Nolan Transportation Group’s (NTG) logistics network and services, “from port to porch.”

Company officials said that it will leverage this investment “to deliver a ground-breaking neutral platform, driven by machine-learning, for predictive pricing intelligence as well as revenue and yield optimization.”

Earlier this week, Chicago-based Loadsmart, the provider of a logistics technology platform that enables shippers, carriers, and brokers to efficiently manage an automated supply chain, said it has secured $200 million in Series D financing. The company said it this financing was spearheaded by lead investor SoftBank Latin America Fund, which is part of the Softbank Group, as well as participation from Series C investor BlackRock, Class I railroad CSX, and global active asset manager Janus Henderson Group.

FourKites officials said that with NIC-place in the fold, it is positioned to create the largest European-based multimodal carrier network, serving global shippers with what it called the most comprehensive end-to-end global supply chain visibility platform. And they also added that it will help to spur on the adoption of secure real-time visibility solutions specifically designed for carriers, while shortening the time to value for shippers with complex, multimodal carrier networks.

Late last year, FedEx Logistics, a subsidiary of global freight transportation and logistics services provider FedEx, said its FedEx Trade Networks unit, which provides air and ocean freight forwarding, customs brokerage, and value-added services, was integrating the WiseTech Global’s CargoWise digital platform into its global ocean and air transportation network. Chicago-based supply chain visibility services provider project44 announced it received a $420 million investment. The investment was led by Thoma Bravo, TPG, and Goldman Sachs Asset Management, coupled with participation from Emergence Capital, Insight Partners, Chicago Ventures, Generation Investment Management, Sapphire, and Sozo Ventures each acquiring equity shares in project44 and resulting in a pre-money valuation of $2.2 billion.
