In a deal that meshes logistics and supply chain technology with AI, Atlanta-based Logility, a leading provider of collaborative supply chain optimization and advanced retail planning solutions, said this week that it has acquired Antwerp, Belgium-based Garvis, a SaaS services provider that combines large language models (ChatGPT) with AI-native demand forecasting.

FreightFriend’s software offerings include a carrier relationship management (CRM) platform, freight matching and a relationship-based marketplace, and predictive new carrier discovery.

In terms of IT investment, the survey found that the top financial companies, which made up 41% of respondents, are more likely to have no obstacles to securing transportation management IT investment compared to companies not performing as well financially, at 26%. Scottsdale, Arizona-based Emerge, a provider of its proprietary Digital Freight Marketplace (DFM) and TMS focused on accelerating productivity and increasing visibility for supply chain stakeholders and freight procurement, recently announced, that it has tapped DAT Freight & Analytics, operator of the largest North American-based truckload freight marketplace, with a database of $137 billion in annual market transactions, as the exclusive branded truckload rate benchmarking service for Emerge’s Dynamic RFP platform.

Atlanta-based Nolan Transportation Group (NTG), a provider of non-asset, tech-enabled logistics and brokerage services, and a subsidiary of Transportation Insight, and San Francisco-based freight forwarding and customs brokerage services provider Flexport, said they are collaborating on a strategic partnership focused on integrating their respective technologies, with a focus on “greater visibility across supply chains.”

The company said that this new office will help to expand Emerge’s North American presence, along with its Scottsdale headquarters and Boulder, Colorado location, in order to “expand coverage for its growing and diversified customer base” and shipper and carrier service offerings.

Blue Yonder, a leading provider of digital supply chain and omni-channel commerce fulfillment software solutions, announced this week that Duncan Angove has been named as CEO, effective immediately.

Memphis-based global freight transportation and logistics services provider FedEx and Chicago-based FourKites, a provider of real-time tracking and visibility solutions across transportation modes and digital platforms announced that they have partnered up for a strategic alliance on a new supply chain visibility offering, which connects key data insights from each of their respective networks.

Entitled Emerge Benchmarking, the company explained that this Machine Learning (ML)-enabled product updates and aggregates freight industry data from “numerous trusted sources,” equipping shippers with real-time business intelligence and market insights, in order to quickly evaluate options and also make informed decisions.

The company said that this TMS is part of its Beon digital logistics platform, which was released in early March.

Entitled Beon, TI said that this new platform gives shippers and carriers a single point of access to access both TI’s and Atlanta-based Nolan Transportation Group’s (NTG) logistics network and services, “from port to porch.”
