Waterloo, Ontario-based Descartes, a provider of logistics based on-demand, software-as-a-service offerings, recently announced it acquired Orlando, Fla.-based GreenMile, a provider of cloud-based mobile route execution services for food, beverage, and broader distribution verticals.

The companies said that this partnership will mesh Flexport’s international client base and Convoy’s North American carrier network, with a focus on providing shippers with what it called seamless logistics services, as well as expand business capabilities for both Flexport and Convoy.

A little more than one month after reports surfaced suggesting that global electronics giant Panasonic was set to acquire, in Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Blue Yonder (formerly JDA), a provider of AI-driven and end-to-end supply chain management services, a report in the Wall Street Journal indicated that Blue Yonder instead plans to become a publicly traded company.

Mercury Gate officials said that bringing Cheetah into the fold will enable the company to extend its TMS platform in order to deliver a last mile, parcel, and less-than-truckload (LTL) offering—and an enhanced fleet management capability—able to adapt, automate, and communicate real-time movements.

Company officials said that, with its new investors, the company is focused on fueling a broader vision with an eye on the future of digital supply chains that “connects the physical and digital worlds of warehouses, stores, and transportation with real-time data and machine learning.”
