Transportation Insight Holding Company releases a new free TMS

Earlier today, Atlanta-based Transportation Insight Holding Company, a provider of non-asset, tech-enabled logistics and brokerage solutions in North America, said it has released a free transportation management system (TMS).

The company said that this TMS is part of its Beon digital logistics platform, which was released in early March. TI said that the Beon platform gives shippers and carriers a single point of access to access both TI’s and Atlanta-based Nolan Transportation Group’s (NTG) logistics network and services, “from port to porch.” Transportation Insight Holding Company (TI Holding Company) is the parent company of both Transportation Insight (TI) and Nolan Transportation Group (NTG), and a portfolio company of Gryphon Investors.

TI officials said that Beon was built by logistics experts leveraging proprietary technology and advanced machine learning algorithms to match demand to a capacity network of more than 850,000 drivers in real-time and at the right price. Collectively, the companies’ 2,500 professionals are using Beon to manage more than $15 billion in logistics spend, from the first to the final mile across all modes, including drayage, truckload, less-than-truckload, expedited and parcel.

And they added that this new free TMS, which is geared towards small-to-mid-sized shippers is now available, with a multimodal enterprise TMS set to be released at a later date in 2022.

With this release, TI said this new free TMS provides small-to-mid-sized shippers with access to TI’s and NTG’s AI-enabled technology, expansive carrier network, and expert-led services within a free TMS and is the next available application within the Beon Shipper suite, focusing on helping shipper simplify how they source capacity and manage shipments.

What’s more, the company added that with this product’s flexible carrier integration, shippers are able to onboard their own carriers into the product or use TI & NTG’s network of 80,000 carriers, which increasing optionality and flexibility. As for other benefits, it said shippers can gain control across operations and position themselves to scale more efficiently with easy-to-use feature functionality, including instant quoting, simplified order creation, rate comparison, automated tendering, tracking and financial tools.

“Following the Beon launch, we are introducing new digital solutions designed to meet the needs of specific shipper groups within our portfolio of over 10,000 customers,” said Geoff Kelley, President and COO, TI Holding Company, in a statement. “This free TMS was built for an underserved market we specialize in, the small-to-mid-sized shipper, giving them intelligent technology to better utilize their own carrier network while also tapping into our larger network providing scale and density, with data and intelligence to make smarter, more informed decisions, at no cost.”

TI Holding Company CEO Ken Beyer recently told LM that over the last few years, shippers and carriers have been faced with the decision to explore new, digital-only solutions or remain restricted by traditional or non-comprehensive technology.

“Our vision was to build and acquire great technology that (em)powers even greater people— from port to porch, supported by our experts,” he said. “When our digital transformation started two years ago, we knew we could make this vision a reality and we couldn’t be more excited to now launch the Beon digital logistics platform.”

When asked about the biggest benefits of the Beon platform for shippers and carriers, Beyer explained that Beon lets shippers and carriers simply connect to TI & NTG’s logistics networks and suite of products and services from a single access point.

“Having a direct connection to a mode-agnostic network streamlines their operations and positions them to navigate the supply chain more efficiently and effectively across drayage, truckload, LTL, expedited, final mile, parcel, and warehousing,” he said. “Shippers and carriers of all sizes and freight types can leverage our scale and data intelligence to grow their business on a proven platform that’s supported by our team of experts.”

As for how is specifically works, he said that Beon simplifies access to TI & NTG’s multimodal network and services via API, web, and mobile applications.

“Features and functionality of the platform have been used internally since October 2020, and we are now extending the platform externally to shippers and carriers,” he said. “Users benefit from Beon’s advanced machine learning algorithms that drive efficiencies across the shipment lifecycle, including automated quoting and order creation, freight matching, and tendering. Nothing needs to change about the way our partners interact with us, as we already use the platform today. But they can leverage more of our scale, density, data, and intelligence directly, through the new products and tools we will be releasing in the coming weeks and months. Some of these include a free and business TMS for shippers and an improved web and mobile app for carriers.”
