UPS said this week it has opened up a new, 76,000 square-foot, Bogtota, Colombia-based healthcare facility, which is geared towards helping pharmaceutical, biopharma, and medical device companies with their global supply chains for expansion into and intra-transport and export from Latin America.

A little more than three months after saying it has expanded logistics capabilities for clinical trials, UPS said this week it is taking an even deeper dive into the healthcare vertical, announcing it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Marken, a provider of global supply chain solutions for the life sciences industry based in Durham, NC and London, England.

FedEx 3PL subsidiary GENCO recently announced a major network expansion, rolling out a multi-tenant warehousing offering for United States- and Canada-based healthcare shippers.
