With a total capital raise approaching $13 million, Irvine, Calif.-based ZUUM Transportation Inc., has its sights set on spurring on digital transformation within logistics to address the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on global supply chains, which have, in many ways, seen businesses on the search for new ways to keep operations running.

Company officials said that this offering which leverages data from the world’s largest shipper and carrier community “to disrupt the decades-old tradition and one-size-fits-all annual bidding approach to freight transportation,” was developed at Robinson Labs, C.H. Robinson’s innovation incubator.

Dallas-based Transplace, a non asset-based third-party logistics services provider, said it has acquired Green Bay, Wis.-based Lanehub, a cloud-based platform and community focused on shipper-carrier collaboration by automatically identifying and connecting companies with complementary freight lanes to save on shipping expenses.

Trucker Tools LLC, provider of trip planning, shipment visibility and freight matching solutions, said that Schneider Transportation Management is now using various offerings from Trucker Tools in order to support its growing carrier network and freight brokerage operations.
