Earlier this week, Trucker Tools LLC, a Reston, Va.-based provider of trip planning, shipment visibility and freight matching solutions, said that Schneider Transportation Management, a subsidiary of Green Bay, Wisc.-based freight transportation and logistics services provider Schneider National, is now using various offerings from Trucker Tools in order to support its growing carrier network and freight brokerage operations.
The two Trucker Tools’ cloud-based software products now being used by Schneider are:
Trucker Tools’ officials said that a major benefit for drivers and fleets that use the Trucker Tools mobile app, which provides various “driver-centric” tools, information, and resources, for other services is that they do not need to switch apps to connect with loads when using Smart Capacity, adding that the offerings powerful algorithms and workflow tools help brokers find, rank and match the best carrier with a load, reduce manual tasks and eliminate multiple phone calls to find and secure a truck. And they added that Smart Capacity’s predictive tools provide brokers with accurate visibility into future truck capacity availability, providing an important advance-planning capability benefits for brokers and carriers.
“We are honored to be selected by one of America’s most respected transportation companies to help them drive further efficiencies and quality improvements into its brokerage operations,” said Prasad Gollapalli, founder and CEO of Trucker Tools, in a statement. “Our goal is to enable our broker customers to leverage next-generation technology to improve their competitiveness and increase their ‘stickiness’ with carriers. Through Smart Capacity, Load Track and our mobile driver app, we’re giving them unprecedented, trusted visibility into where and when those trucks are available – today, tomorrow and into next week.”
Erin Van Zeeland, Senior Vice President/General Manager, Schneider Logistics, explained that by leveraging the Load Track service, carriers have another easy-to-use method to provide that data to Schneider, and in turn Schneider’s customers.
“The visibility of an order has always been a key process that Schneider provides and we are always looking for ways to make this as seamless to our carriers and customers,” she said. “Load Track does exactly that easily and is a great addition to our toolkit. Smart Capacity is a way for Schneider to continue to deepen our analytical view of our carrier base. With this enhanced view to a carrier’s capacity, we continually will find additional capacity to service customers’ orders. It’s a win-win when capacity is found and the right load match is offered in real-time.”
Van Zeeland added that Schneider started using Trucker Tools’ Load Track offering in early 2018, and she said that now it is leveraging that as part of the Smart Capacity offering, which, in turn, makes the combined data becomes more powerful.
