Fortna (Booth 509) announced the release of version 3.0 of their DCmodeler tool. The proprietary system quickly synthesizes item, order, receipt, shipment and inventory data to project future business requirements and growth.
The software can analyze each item’s dimensions, weight, velocity and inventory requirements to recommend the best storage and handling media. It also analyzes seasonal trends at the item level to minimize inventory while right-sizing facilities and automation. By compressing a process that typically takes weeks into hours, the company can provide rapid, accurate data simulations.
“The speed of our DCmodeler system allows us to foucs on alternative and ‘tipping point’ analysis to develop the best custom and justifiable design for our customers’ distribution operations,” said John White, Fortna’s president.
White also discussed his company’s global growth with a recent acquisition of South Africa-based LGA Logistics Consultants.
