Infor announces cloud SCE option

Infor (Booth 3394) announced the availability of Infor Supply Chain Execution (SCE) in the Cloud, which combines warehouse management, labor management, 3PL billing and transportation execution in a single, unified solution offered under a subscription-based, cloud-deployment model.

Infor (Booth 3394) announced the availability of Infor Supply Chain Execution (SCE) in the Cloud, which combines warehouse management, labor management, 3PL billing and transportation execution in a single, unified solution offered under a subscription-based, cloud-deployment model.

Vishal Minocha, Infor’s director of product management for supply chain solutions, said the cloud SCE option, like all of Infor’s cloud solutions, makes uses of Amazon’s cloud infrastructure, which keeps costs down. The cloud option offers the identical software functionality as the on-premise model, so users don’t have to settle for a lighter set of capabilities to go the cloud route.

“The type of user that the cloud option will appeal to the most will likely be those users who do not have a big IT staff to run the SCE solution on premise, or those that might have a bigger IT staff but don’t want to expend their IT resources administrating a solution on premise,” said Minocha.

Users can continue to run Infor SCE solutions on premise for some sites, and opt for the cloud for new warehouses or for select sites, Minocha said. The cloud SCE option was unveiled at ProMat, but has been thoroughly tested with some early adopter customers, Minocha added.

ProMat 2015 is scheduled to be held March 23-26, 2014 at Chicago’s McCormick Place. The tradeshow will showcase the latest manufacturing, distribution and supply chain solutions in the material handling and logistics industry. Modern’s complete ProMat 2015 coverage.
