Fraud remains a concern among carriers, shippers and 3PLs, but fighting back remains a complex and time-consuming process.

Chicago-based 4PL and logistics platform services provider Redwood Logistics said this week it has acquired Dubuque, IA-based Rockfarm Supply Chain Solutions and Global Distribution and Logistics, a tech-enabled transportation logistics company, focusing on flexible, customer-driven service. A purchase price was not disclosed, but Redwood officials said that with Rockfarm in the fold that Redwood now represents a combined $5.5 billion in total platform freight under management between its 3PL and 4PL services.

Chicago-based supply chain and logistics services provider Redwood Logistics announced a new strategic investment from global investment firm AEA Investors. Terms of the investment were not released. Going back to 2016, Redwood has been part of CI Capital Holdings investment portfolio, and it said that over that period it more than tripled in size through the pairing of strategic acquisitions and organic growth efforts.

Boise, Idaho-based Truckstop.com, a load board and provider of spot market freight matching services, and Chicago-based 3PL Redwood Logistics said they are partnering up to mesh their Truckstop.com’s instant load booking feature, entitled Book it Now, with Redwood’s LoadRunner TMS.

Chicago-based Redwood Logistics announced this week it has acquired Horsham, Penn.-based Eminent Global Logistics, a provider of TMS (transportation management systems) implementation and integration services. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
