Knight-Swift’s acquisition of U.S. Xpress is made official

Following its March announcement in which Phoenix-based Knight-Swift Transportation, the largest player in the truckload market, with $4.5 billion in 2022 revenue, said it was acquiring Chattanooga, Tenn.-based U.S. Xpress, which ranked ninth in TL revenue last year at $2.2 billion, Knight-Swift said today that the transaction is now a done deal.

The deal is valued at $808 million, including assumption of $484 million of debt.
Knight-Swift further expands LTL presence, with acquisition of MME

Taking steps to further expand its United States less-than-truckload (LTL) operations, Phoenix-based national truckload carrier Knight-Swift announced yesterday it has acquired 100% of RAC MME Holdings LLC, which is better known in trucking circles as MME (with the brand names Midwest Motor Express Inc. and also Midnite Express Inc.).

Phoenix-based national truckload carrier Knight-Swift Transportation announced it has thrown its hat into the less-than-truckload (LTL) arena, acquiring Dothan, Alabama-based LTL carrier AAA Cooper Transportation and its affiliated entity AAA Cooper for $1.35 billion.
DAT and Knight-Swift team up for Q1 rate forecasting pilot program

This pilot program leverages DAT’s RateView, which DAT said is the largest and most historically complete database on freight transactions in the trucking sector and provides what it called actionable short-term and long-term insights into transportation markets. RateView provides forecasts of more than $68 billion in annual freight transactions, according to DAT.
Knight-Swift to add 400 trucks, drivers with Abilene tuck-in acquisition

The biggest truckload carrier in the United States is growing by 400 trucks with a tuck-in acquisition that it says will immediately add $100 million in revenue and, just as importantly, 400 drivers to its fleet operations. Phoenix-based Knight-Swift Transportation says it is buying Richmond, Va.-based Abilene Motor Express for an undisclosed amount.
