Panasonic formally said earlier today that it will acquire Blue Yonder by purchasing the remaining 80% of shares of Blue Yonder, for $5.6 billion (USD), coupled with the 20% of Blue Yonder shares Panasonic acquired in May 2020, when it acquired a minority ownership stake and one seat on the Board of Directors of Blue Yonder

Freight transportation and logistics services provider Schneider and Blue Yonder (formerly JDA), a provider of AI-driven and end-to-end supply chain management services, recently announced they are teaming up on a new carrier marketplace offering that will run within Blue Yonder’s TMS (transportation management system) platform, entitled Luminate.

Earlier this week, global electronics giant Panasonic said it has made a 20% equity investment in Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Blue Yonder (formerly JDA), a provider of AI-driven and end-to-end supply chain management services. Panasonic made this investment through a secondary sale of shares, with Blue Yonder having an enterprise value of $5.5 billion. The companies have enjoyed a strong strategic relationship, which notably includes a Japan-based joint venture in April 2019.
