Drayage and Transloading Solution Saves Chistmas
The above and beyond communication and thoroughness built trust for the importer that PITT OHIO would get the very important shipment delivered across the country on time.
One of the nation's largest distributors and fulfillment service providers within the toy industry had 30 overseas containers sitting at the port of Los Angeles. The customer was up against the fast approaching Christmas deadline for the Marines Toys for Tots program.
They were also incurring detention fees upwards of $100K the longer the containers sat at the port. When their current provider ran out of capacity, PITT OHIO stepped in with a complete drayage and transloading solution that started with clearing the freight from the port.
Once the containers were o ffloaded to a warehouse, PITT OHIO palletized the toys, and prepared the freight for the transport from California to the Marines Toys for Toys warehouse in Cincinnati, Ohio.
By delivering the toys in time for the holiday season, the customer ensured children across America will experience the joy of Christmas through the Toys for Tots charity program.
