Did you know that more than 60% of the world’s hungriest citizens are women and girls. Females also make up more than half of the supply chain workforce, with many of those working in Southeast Asia. The supply chain has long taken advantage of cheap labor amid poor working conditions.

CARE Impact Partners is proving that organizations can have efficient and profitable supply chains while at the same time eliminating gendered risks such as these from the workforce. Doing so actually lifts women and other minorities around the world, ensuring they receive fair compensation and humane and safe working conditions.

With legislation in many locales increasingly mandating ethical supply chain sourcing practices, and with customers more concerned than ever with ensuring products are ethically sourced, many companies are looking to address gendered supply chain risks.

Emily Patrick, chief strategy officer of CARE Impact Partners joined Talking Supply Chain host Brian Straight to discuss the work the organization is doing to improve working conditions and eliminate gendered risks from the supply chain.
