Talking Materials Handling: What will the DC of Tomorrow Look Like?

Listen in as Vanderlande's Andy Lockhart discusses the future of warehouse automation. Executive editor Bob Trebilcock hosts.

Talking Materials Handling: What will the DC of tomorrow look like?

Talk to any DC manager, and they’ll tell you that worker shortages are back to where they were before the pandemic. That might sound like good news, but even before COVID, turnover rates were running as high as 100% a year at the same time as the volume of e-commerce orders was exploding. Tried and true solutions are simply no longer up to the task.

So, what’s the warehouse of tomorrow going to look like? That’s what we discussed with Andy Lockhart, Vanderlande’s director of strategic engagement for warehouse solutions, North America. It was one of the topics of discussion at NextGen2023 (www.nextgensupplychain.com), where Lockhart was a panelist.
