Dr. Noel Hacegaba provided LM's Berman with an overview of various supply chain topics, including: operations at the Port of Long Beach (POLB); the impact of the Omicron variant on the port and lessons learned from the pandemic; and the state of the intermodal sector, among others.
Dr. Noel Hacegaba is responsible for managing the day-to-day administration and operations of the Port of Long Beach. During his tenure, he has helped the Port navigate through the largest bankruptcy in shipping line industry history and the mandated sale of its largest terminal, LBCT. These days, he is leading the Port’s response to the supply chain crisis, and you’ve probably seen him on Meet the Press, This Week or Fox News or heard him on NPR.
Dr. Hacegaba has more than 24 years of public and private sector experience spanning a variety of industries. Prior to joining the port, he managed $200 million in contracts for a Fortune 500 company. Dr. Hacegaba is a two-time graduate of USC, where he earned degrees in economics, business administration and urban planning. He also earned his doctorate degree in public administration from the University of La Verne.
He serves on the Boards of various industry and non-profit organizations, including the Marine Exchange of Southern California and the Intermodal Association of North America (IANA), where he currently serves as Chairman of the Board.
