A micro-fulfillment center deployed in an existing retail location effectively turns a store into a vending machine. Even without a pandemic, e-commerce trends were moving in this direction. Grocers might lead the way, but retailers of all kinds would do well to investigate micro-fulfillment options now – especially since the next big fulfillment trend is right around the corner.

Brittain Ladd, chief marketing officer for PULSE Integration, joins Josh Bond, Senior Editor of Modern Materials Handling, to discuss the current and future roles of micro-fulfillment in grocery and retail supply chains.

PULSE Integration, a WEPCO company based in Pittston Pa., combines design expertise and seamless integration with intentional transparency to provide clients with scalable engineered solutions. Cultivating more than 45 years of material handling experience, WEPCO launched PULSE Integration to help companies leverage the right mix of technology (digital and physical) in their facilities.
