New features broaden high-speed sorter’s market

Hytrol Conveyor Co. has released the Elite series of Prosort 400 sorters with a new line-up of features that expand its functionality into individual product and parcel handling, in addition to handling totes and cases.

Hytrol Conveyor Co. has released the Elite series of Prosort 400 sorters with a new line-up of features that expand its functionality into individual product and parcel handling, in addition to handling totes and cases.

“We’ve specifically created this model with a minimal gap between the anodized aluminum slats,” explained Brandy Lloyd, engineer. “This provides full product support and accommodates handling of small, discrete items and parcels.”

“We’ve also added an electric divert switch option—in addition to our pneumatic offering—for facilities that want to achieve speeds up to 700 feet per minute, or prefer to not have air equipment,” he said.

Capable of diverting positively from left- or right-hand sides at 22- and 30-degree angles, the sorter is equipped with a completely sealed, lubricated carrying chain.

“The number 100 pre-lubricated o-ring roller chain with precision bearings is sealed to not only keep debris out of the chain, but to also eliminate maintenance and associated downtime,” added Lloyd.

Further, a new three-year warranty is offered on Elite models equipped with Hytrol’s Prologix PLC-based controls package that directs sorter operation from induction point through divert confirmation—including sorter diagnostics, said Lloyd. “With our PLC, installations are very easy and trouble-free.”
