In this podcast, Jeff Berman, Group News Editor, for Logistics Management and Peerless Media, interviews Steve Huntley, President and Owner, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Resource Logistics Group, a logistics advisory firm working with shippers and 3PLs.
Huntley addressed various trends and themes in this podcast, including: the 2023 Peak Season outlook; sourcing and nearshoring approaches and strategies; and the impact of AI on logistics, among other topics.
Steve Huntley founded Resource Logistics Group (RLG) back in 2009, which at that time was known as Merclog Holdings, Inc. RLG is a logistics advisory firm that offers logistics services to may shippers and 3PLs. In addition to working with his own direct shipper clients, Steve has partnered with several logistics and freight audit/payment companies to offer their clients substantial transportation/logistics cost reductions. Steve has helped his clients save more than $185 million in transportation expenditures.
He also worked as Vice President of Global Transportation/Logistics for Tyco International where he managed a $1.2 billion transportation budget. He began working for Tyco in 1996 as Supervisor of Logistics Planning and Control with Kendall Healthcare. Prior to RLG and Tyco, Steve worked for Roadway Express as a Supervisor and Metro Coordinator; Leykam-Muerztaler Paper Company in Austria as an Import/Export Analyst; and Baystate Shippers as an Assistant Pricing Manager.
Huntley holds an MBA from the New York Institute of Technology (NYIT). He also holds a dual Undergraduate Degree in International Business and Transportation/Logistics Management from Northeastern University. He has also completed a Graduate Certificate in Logistics/Supply Chain Management from Northeastern University, graduating with Honors for all three degrees that he holds. Steve has been a guest speaker at various undergraduate and graduate Supply Chain Management classes at Northeastern as well as other logistics and supply chain-related events.
