Damotech introduces new heavy-duty rack protection solution

Some say time is the most precious commodity. Some say truth. But if you’re in the warehousing business, you’re likely to say rack is the most precious commodity.

Damotech co-president Eric Naaman would agree. However, in a booth visit (Booth 3947) with Modern at ProMat 2011, Naaman explained that because rack is a commodity, warehouse and distribution center operations don’t typically invest capital in their existing rack until there’s a problem. They have an allegiance to the product, not to the racking system, Naaman said.

But damaged rack can mean costly downtime, labor expenses and potential product damage. And that’s where Damotech’s new Damo Super Guard comes in. The company’s newest safety solution protects warehouse pallet rack from damage, typically caused by accidental forklift impact. Manufactured from structural steel, Damo Super Guard has an extra level of durability including five anchor bolts with high shearing capacity to sustain common impacts that occur in the warehouse environment.

Damaged rack poses serious risk to personnel and product. By protecting the rack structure, a facility can keep people and product moving safely and smoothly through the facility while eliminating the need to unload and repair damaged uprights, which can result in hours of downtime and costly delays.

Offered for the first time through a dealer-based model, Damotech rack protection and repair products are currently available throughout North America.
