The new edition of the TD Cowen/AFS Freight Index, which was recently released by New York-based investment firm TD Cowen Inc. and Shreveport, La.-based 3PL and freight audit and payment company AFS Logistics LLC, highlighted the impact of muted demand for truckload, less-than-truckload (LTL), and parcel activity, from the third quarter to the fourth quarter.

Preliminary Class 8 truck orders see December declines

That was preceded by August’s -12.54 reading (its lowest reading going back to November 2022), which was preceded by July’s -5.34 reading and June’s -6.29 reading.
November truck tonnage is down, reports ATA

The ATA’s advanced Seasonally Adjusted (SA) For-Hire Truck Tonnage Index, for November, at 113.7 (2015=100), was off 1%, following an 0.8% October gain, which came in at 114.9.
