Diesel Prices

The national average, for the week of October 30, fell 9.1 cents, to $4.454, nearly wiping out the 10.1-cent gain, to $4.545 per gallon, for the week of October 23.

The national average price per gallon headed up 10.1 cents, to $4.545 per gallon, marking the highest increase since a 13.9-cent increase, to $4.378, for the week of August 14.

For August, the most recent month for which data is available, the TCI reading was -12.54, well below July's -5.34 reading and June's -6.29 reading.

With a 5.4-cent decrease, the national average, for the week of October 16, was $4.444 per gallon, following a 9.5-cent increase, to $4.498 per gallon, for the week of October 9, and a slight 0.007-cent increase, to $4.593, for the week of October 2, and a 4.7-cent decline, to $4.586, for the week of September 25.

Falling 9.5 cents, the national average, for the week of October 9, came in at $4.498 per gallon, following a slight 0.007-cent increase, to $4.593, for the week of October 2, and a 4.7-cent decline, to $4.586, for the week of September 25.

According to Goldman Sachs, prior to the Israeli attacks, Iran had raised its oil production by around 500,000 barrels a day. Goldman Sachs estimated for every 100,000 barrel a day decline in Iran’s production next year, Brent crude oil prices would rise by about $1 per barrel.

With a 4.7-cent decline, the national average came in at $4.586 per gallon. This came on the heels of a 9.3-cent increase, to $4.633 per gallon, for the week of September 18, and a 4.8-cent increase, for the week of September 11, to $4.50 per gallon.

For July, the most recent month for which data is available, the TCI reading was -5.34, faring better than June’s -6.29, the lowest TCI reading going back to November 2022.

For the week of September 18, EIA reported that the national average climbed 9.3 cents, to $4.633 per gallon, following a 4.8-cent increase, for the week of September 11, to $4.50 per gallon.

With a 4.8-cent increase, the national average, for the week of September 11, came in at $4.50 per gallon.

Rising 1.7 cents, the national average came in at $4.492 per gallon.

June’s SCI reading, at 7.9, was down compared to May’s 8.6, with FTR observing that the reading was negatively impacted by gains in diesel prices.

With an 8.6-cent increase, the national average came in at $4.475 per gallon.

Following a four-week stretch that saw the national average price per gallon of diesel gasoline rise a cumulative 57.2 cents, the national diesel average was up, for the week of August 21, but at a reduced rate, according to data issued this week by the Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration (EIA).

The national average saw a 13.9-cent increase to $4.378 per gallon, for the week of August 14. This follows an 11.2-cent gain to $4.239 per gallon, for the week of August 7, and a 22.2-cent increase, for the week of July 31.
