Utah Brewers Cooperative makers of Squatters and Wasatch beers, a small regional brewery that produces 25 different Ales and Lagers was looking for a palletizer to keep up with their new faster bottling line that produces 37,500 barrels per year.
In November 2010 Dan Burick contacted Columbia Machine about adding a palletizer to their packaging line. Together, George Bentz, one of Columbia’s long-time independent representatives and Ali Khorshidian, Columbia’s Western Regional Manager, worked with Dan to determine their needs.
The solution provided was the FL2000 floor level palletizer, which Utah Brewers is pleased to say they were able to install and start-up by themselves. “Our Columbia Palletizer has been a great addition to our brewery, reducing some of the more difficult and back breaking labor thus allowing us to cross train our employees in other areas. The machine is robust and the support we get from Columbia has been fantastic. Columbia’s delivery was on time and the two days of training at the facility were very helpful.”
With various package sizes being palletized at Utah Brewers, it is very important for the palletizer to be flexible and operator friendly. Dan commented, “Columbia’s Product Manager Software is great! We can make our own recipes and set our own patterns, which we have done and can adjust things on the fly, which is nice. It is a very dependable and operator friendly machine with 98% uptime.” Employees in other areas. The machine is “Columbia’s Product Manager Software is great!”
