RPA accepting submissions for 4th-annual “Excellence in Reusable Packaging Award”

The award recognizes companies that have developed, supported, or implemented measurable and innovative reusable solutions in a business-to-business supply chain.

The Reusable Packaging Association is accepting submissions for its fourth annual Excellence in Reusable Packaging Award. The award recognizes companies that have developed, supported, or implemented measurable and innovative reusable solutions in a business-to-business supply chain. Non-members as well as members of the RPA are encouraged to enter.

“Winning the award gives companies recognition for their hard work in achieving cost and environmental savings with reusables,” said Jerry Welcome, President of the RPA. “And the program gives more visibility to the tangible results delivered by reusables.”

Businesses of all sizes are encouraged to enter. Two awards are given: one for businesses with revenues less than $25 million, and one for businesses with revenues more than $25 million. The submission form is available on the RPA website reusables.org

Submissions will be reviewed by an independent committee of judges who are not members of the RPA. The judges are: Diana Twede, Ph.D. Professor, Michigan State University; Justin Lehrer, Program Manager, StopWaste.org; Ben Miyares, President, Packaging Management Institute; and Rick LeBlanc, Editor, Packaging Revolution.

The deadline for submissions is June 12, 2015. Eligible companies must have participated in the reusable packaging industry as of September 1, 2014. Companies will be judged on the quantifiable environmental and economic benefits of their reusable packaging solutions and services. Each end-user company that completes a submission will receive a free one-year membership to the Reusable Packaging Association.

Past winners are Svenska Retursystem and Full Belly Farm (2014); Finelite (2013); and Herman Miller Inc. (2012). The award is supported by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Reusable Packaging Machinery Institute (PMMI) and StopWaste.Org.
