Snapping a three-week stretch of declines, the national average price per gallon was up slightly this for the second time in three weeks, according to data issued by the Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration (EIA).
Rising 0.014-cents, the national diesel average checked in at $3.064, following a decline of 0.001 cents, for the week ending October 21 and a 0.004-cent gain, for the week ending October 14.
From the week of July 8 through the week of September 9, a seven-week span, the national diesel average fell a cumulative 8.4 cents. And since the week of September 16, when the average was at $2.987, through this week’s $3.064 average, there has been a cumulative gain of 0.077-cents.
On an annual basis, this week’s average is down 29.1 cents.
West Texas Intermediate Crude Oil is currently trading at $54.73 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
