McGuigan to step down as Uber Freight President and COO
Late last week, San Francisco-based Uber Freight, a subsidiary of the ubiquitous, ride-sharing service Uber, whose proprietary app matches trucking companies with loads to haul, said that Frank McGuigan, will be stepping down from his current role as Uber Freight President and COO, effective January 31.
McGuigan was formerly CEO of Dallas-based Transplace, a non-asset-based third-party logistics services provider, which Uber Freight acquired last November, for roughly $2.25 billion.

He will continue to support, advise and advocate for Uber Freight's ongoing and future success as a member of our Board of Directors, and we wish Frank the best in his next endeavors.”
McGuigan was named CEO of Transplace in 2018, replacing former CEO Tom Sanderson, whom subsequently became executive chairman of Transplace and also served on its board of directors. McGuigan joined Transplace following its acquisition of SCO Logistics in April 2011, where he was CEO, and served as the company’s president and chief operating officer, running all of sales and operations in North America. Prior to joining SCO Logistics, McGuigan served as vice president of sales for Penske Logistics, from 1998-2006.
