Diesel average heads up for second straight week, reports EIA
The Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration (EIA) reported this week that the national average price per gallon of diesel gasoline rose for the second consecutive week.
With a 0.001-cent gain, this week’s average is $3.074. This marks the third time over the last six weeks that the national average has seen a gain, with declines occurring in three of the previous five weeks.
A week ago the national average was up 1.1 cents, which followed a 0.002-cent decline, a 0.014-cent gain, and a decline of 0.001-cents.
On an annual basis, this week’s average is down 20.8 cents, which marks an improvement over last week’s 24.4-cent annual spread.
West Texas Intermediate Crude Oil is currently trading at $55.98 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
