A. Duie Pyle opens up new Allentown, Penn.-based warehouse and distribution center

Earlier this week, Westchester, Penn.-based freight transportation and supply chain services provider A. Duie Pyle said it has rolled out a new Allentown, Penn.-based state-of-the-art warehouse and distribution center. Company officials said that this new facility will help A. Duie Pyle further boost its Northeast operations.

The new facility’s address is 450 Lloyd Street, Allentown. A. Duie Pyle said this new facility will add warehousing and distribution, consolidation, deconsolidation and integrated solutions, including load consolidation and final mile dedicated services, for its regional network. It will be comprised of 30 staffers onsite, and another 20 jobs will be created, when the facility is fully staffed by the end of 2024. And it is located on more than 20 acres of land and is easily accessible by both the I-78 and I-476 interstates, with the company saying it will be a boon for the local economy in the coming years, as it’s strategically located near major Northeast cities and ports.

Other services provided by A. Duie Pyle out of this facility include industry-leading sortation systems, high-density racking systems and customized technologies the company said will enable visibility and efficiency. What’s more, the company said there is enough on-site space for 109 trailing parking spots, in addition to storage, Pyle said this location was designed to accommodate seasonal surge, for things like transloading, and deconsolidation, providing what it called unique flexibility to satisfy a various customer needs.

“This major investment brings much needed warehousing capacity to the regional supply chain and further amplifies our capabilities as a leader in the space,” said Frank Granieri, COO of Supply Chain Solutions at A. Duie Pyle, in a statement. “We are continually researching how we can better meet our customers’ evolving needs and continue to invest in real estate infrastructure to support their long-term growth objectives. With the opening of this facility in Allentown, we will be able to offer innovative engineered fulfillment and transportation solutions to our expanding customer base.”

Granieri told LM that a major driver for this new facility relates to how A. Duie Pyle continues to invest in capacity to support its customers’ growth and expansion objectives.

“This facility added storage, fulfillment, and parking capacity to complement our adjacent LTL cross dock,” he said. “We are able to offer additional capacity to service multiple needs including: warehousing and distribution, consolidation, deconsolidation and integrated solutions. Shippers will benefit by gaining centralized access to the Northeast for inbound and/or outbound fulfillment and transportation. From imports, to final mile Delivery, this new facility will provide the highest-cost value proposition for shippers requiring exceptional transit times and on-time service.”

When asked to identify the main competitive advantages of this new facility, for A. Duie Pyle, Granieri explained it was designed to accommodate seasonal surge, transloading, and deconsolidation, offering unique flexibility to satisfy a wide range of customer needs.

“With close proximity to major cities in the Northeast, this site allows us to offer next day delivery, as well as the storage capacity of 326,000 square-feet,” he said. “The competitive advantages are really enjoyed by customers that take advantage of our Integrated Solutions to drive out cost, improve transit times, and provide higher quality service to their internal or external clients.”
