The Challenge
As a growing company Nambe was experiencing an increase in sales. New marketing channels within the retail sector had created new pressures for distribution.
Inaccurate and delayed shipments were causing their customer services levels to decline. As sales increased, inbound receipts also increased resulting in storage capacity issues, especially during their peak season.
Nambe understood that their core competency was manufacturing high quality products and called upon FORTE’s expertise to improve their distribution performance.
The Solution
FORTE assisted Nambe in the search for a viable third party logistics (3PL) provider that aligned most closely with their requirements. FORTE conducted an assessment of Nambe’s business needs and objectives and developed a comprehensive request for proposal (RFP) based on their unique distribution and customer service requirements.
The Result
FORTE chose fifteen 3PL providers to receive the RFP and worked alongside Nambe to narrow the list to just three candidates based on their capabilities, systems and facilities.
The three finalists toured the Nambe facility and gave an on-site presentation to the Nambe and FORTE team. The final decision was made by Nambe with FORTE providing objective counsel.
