New Warehouse Automation Strategies for the Post COVID-19 World

In 2019, Commonwealth presented, “Automation: Think Before You Leap!” For 2020, Ian presents updated information, especially in relation to the impact of COVID to the supply chain world.

Customer demands were already fickle enough before the pandemic came along. Automation that helped solve the most pressing fulfillment problems a few months ago is now poised for mass adoption. Automated storage, mobile robots, cobots and the software to orchestrate them will play a vital role in helping operations manage disruption, support current and future employees, and preserve service levels during the recovery and for many years after.

Finding the right automation for the application demands plenty of thoughtful, up-front consideration, but time is of the essence.
