Listen as Rosemary Coates and Jill Donoghue, Vice President at Bumble Bee Foods discuss a global supply chain that moves around the world and a customer base with big swings in demand. Rosemary Coates, Executive Director of the Reshoring Institute, hosts this episode of The Frictionless Supply Chain.

In this episode, Jill Donoghue explains the complexity of supply chains and the required response to changes in demand such as during the pandemic, when demand for canned tuna was extremely high. She describes the focus on Bumble Bee’s top 7 SKUs during the pandemic to meet the additional demand. Bumble Bee has learned to be very flexible in times of extreme volatility such as weather events when people buy supplies such as water and canned food.

Jill’s recommendation for supply chain professionals: get as much experience as you can in as many areas of supply chain as possible to give you a broad understanding of all aspects of supply chain management.
