Earlier today, Boise, Idaho-based Truckstop.com, a load board and provider of spot market freight matching services, and Chicago-based 3PL Redwood Logistics said they are partnering up to mesh their Truckstop.com’s instant load booking feature, entitled Book it Now, with Redwood’s LoadRunner TMS.
Last month, Truckstop.com announced the general availability of Book it Now on the heels of a pilot program in which it was used with freight transportation and logistics services provider Schneider. The companies said that through this collaboration, Schneider can post, assign and tender loads to approved carriers, adding that through a digital tender process, carriers can book loads and subsequently accept a rate confirmation via a Truckstop.com’s mobile app. And they added that due to demand for automated booking, loads with a Book it Now rate rank higher on load boards and enhance visibility, which, in turn, generates more impressions for each load and increases the availability speed and capacity needed to cover orders.
And the companies pointed to various benefits Book it Now provides for carriers and owner-operators, including:
With today’s news, Truckstop.com and Redwood Logistics said that this partnership helps customers save time and reduce costs and enable freight brokers and 3PLs “to further digitize the booking process through the combination of the Book it Now technology with the data science and recommendation engines in Redwood’s LoadRunner TMS.
“Increased investment in technology and the introduction of new tools and services has created a lot of opportunity in our industry, but the tightening economy means companies need to be very strategic when it comes to growing their businesses,” said Paris Cole, CEO, Truckstop.com, in a statement. “Our goal has always been to help our customers find a better way to do business. One of the best ways we can do that is through strong partnerships with companies like Redwood.”
Redwood Logistics’ Senior Vice President, Capacity Solutions, Jeffrey Leppert told LM that Redwood and Truckstop share a similar goal of helping customers and carriers find a better way to do business.
“LoadRunner was built to execute carrier selection from recommendation engines powered by machine learning,” he said. “Truckstop is the largest freight matching marketplace in North America. The synergies our companies can realize that will benefit both shippers and carriers were very exciting.
Leppert also cited Redwood’s commitment to digital freight brokerage and strategic investment in making partnerships faster, and stronger and recognizing the overall shift in the industry and tech adoption as additional drivers for the partnership.
When asked what the main benefits of this partnership are, Leppert explained that the more scale and connectivity brought into Redwood’s ecosystem of shippers and carriers translated into the more value it can provide to all parties.
“Carriers will experience a more seamless way of transacting with Redwood Logistics and can reduce waste in their network,” he said. “Shippers will have confidence that Redwood Logistics continues to invest in technology to improve carrier selection and service for their freight.
And he added that the integration of Book it Now and LoadRunner more ably digitizes the booking process with carriers so that Redwood can spend more time promoting engagement and strengthening its relationships with carriers to better serve their needs.
