Chicago-based project44, a technology services provider offering standardized, secure Web service API (application programming interfaces) integrations enabling 3PLs and shippers to connect with carriers in real time, recently announced it has rolled out a new service level agreement (SLA) geared towards full truckload carrier onboarding.
Company officials said that this SLA speaks to project44’s “commitment to results” while also providing a money-back guarantee. And they added that through the new carrier coverage SLA, the company guarantees that 90% of a shipper’s contracted truckload carriers in North America and Europe will be live within 30 days of starting implementation.
What’s more, they explained that with carrier compliance at the foundation of transportation visibility, this SLA is poised to deliver upon the promise of real-time visibility and provide project44 customers a significant competitive advantage in today’s Delivery Economy.
Tommy Barnes, project44 Head of Global Network Partnerships, told LM that real-time visibility is a crucial need for organizations in order to track where their items are across the supply chain and served as a key driver for this offering.
“However, a visibility solution is only as good as the data it can pull, and that is reliant on a robust carrier network,” he noted. “Our network is the best out there, covering more than 760 ELD/telematics providers in more than 48 countries, and connections to 4.33 million drivers, 3.55 million trucks, and 800,000 fleets. We want our customers to feel confident that when they sign on to a visibility solution, we can deliver on it. This new agreement allows us to demonstrate this level of commitment to our shippers with a guarantee.”
When asked about the biggest benefits of the SLA for shipper customers, Barnes pointed to accelerated time-to-value for shippers as well as the ability to know their dollars are not at risk.
“It gives them the security of knowing they can absolutely rely on project44 to deliver the services they need and allows them to spend their valuable time on other, more pressing matters within their organization,” he said.
As for how it works, Barnes provided a hypothetical example, in which a project44 shipper customer joins the company’s network with a contracted carrier for an upcoming shipment that is being sent somewhere around North America or Europe.
“Within 30-days of starting the implementation phase in the network, this new SLA guarantees that carrier will achieve live status – or the shipper will get their money back, said Barnes.
The project44 executive went on to note that this represents the first SLA of its kind, adding that this commitment to real-time visibility will allow its shipper customers to accelerate time-to-value, enabling them to promptly see the results of their visibility investment.
“No other visibility provider on the market offers the SLA of this kind, giving our shippers a significant advantage over others,” he said.
