Lift trucks: Orderpicker truck products

An overview of orderpicker lift truck products from the pages of Material Handling Product News.

Stockpicker with enhanced stability
The SP 3500 four-point series narrow aisle stockpicker handles non-standard loads at heights exceeding 30 feet, including furniture applications with 48-inch load centers. For enhanced stability and decreased sway, the vehicle includes four wheels and incorporates even load force distribution from the platform through the mast and power unit, and down the drive unit to the ground. The vehicle’s skirt, doors and battery cover are constructed of heavy-gauge steel for additional heft. AC motors provide smooth acceleration, direction reversals and responsiveness. The vehicle is offered in three models, including one for furniture handling and one for cart handling. Crown Equipment, 419-629-2311, www.crown.com.

Three-phase AC power controls drive, lift, steering
The EKS 230-330p orderpicker lift truck for mid- and high-level applications includes three-phase AC power to control the drive, lift and steering motors for enhanced productivity and precision. Handling up to 3,000 pound loads, the heavy-duty mast offers high visibility and rigidity to reduce sway at high lift heights. To reduce the risk of damage, the mast’s maximum lift height can be programmed to lift heights up to 366 inches. An ergonomic operator compartment features an adjustable control panel, multifunction control handle, steering wheel and operator presence pedal, and molded rubber floor mats that reduce fatigue and prevent slips. Hydrogen fuel cell powered orderpicker
A hydrogen fuel cell-compatible orderpicker features a specially built 21-inch battery box to accommodate a hydrogen fuel cell for use in facilities seeking to eliminate battery charging, changing and maintenance while meeting sustainability goals. The model 5500 orderpicker raises 3,000 pound loads up to 366 inches and includes AC-powered drive and lift motors. Features include a simultaneous control handle with integral, infinitely variable lift and lower control, clear view mast, and electronic power steering with auto-steer centering. To secure loads, an auto-locking pallet clamp locks on to the pallet stringer board when the pallet is in place. The Raymond Corp., 800-235-7200, www.raymondcorp.com.

Ergonomic features deliver operator comfort
For efficient case picking up to 25 feet, an ergonomic order picker features a separately excited drive motor and transistor control for precise speed and torque handling—loaded and unloaded. The truck’s two-speed lift and lower function gradually ramps power from low to high for smooth load handling. Travel, lift/lower and horn are located on a multifunction control handle, while electric power steering permits quick aisle transfer and accurate maneuvering. For visibility, a wide-view mast incorporates nested mast channels and side-mounted cylinders. Ergonomic features include low platform height, bubble-cushioned floor mat, flush-mounted brake pedal, and anti-rattle mast staging. Man-up order selector rises to 366 inches
With lift heights from 195 to 366 inches, the OSX man-up order selector lift truck is rated for capacities up to 3,000 pounds. Drive, steering and lifting functions are powered by 24-volt AC motors (36 volt is optional). Auto-centering returns steering to straight ahead when the key switch is cycled off and on. The LCD dash display shows time/date, state of charge, hour meter, drive-wheel position, and service codes in text and numeric formats. To keep at least one wheel in constant contact with the floor, articulating load wheels are included. As lift height and steer angle increase, travel speed is gradually reduced for enhanced operator safety and truck stability. Clark Material Handling, 866-252-5275, www.clarkmhc.com.
