CEMA reports 10% increase in booked orders in November

Conveyor Equipment Manufacturers Association's index shows an increase of 21% over November last year.

In its latest monthly report released today, the Conveyor Equipment Manufacturers Association (CEMA) reported that its November 2010 Booked Orders Index was 126. The index in November is up 11 points or 10% from October 2010’s index of 115. The November 2010 Index represents an increase of 21% from the November 2009 Index of 104.

CEMA’s baseline calculation uses the year 1990 as a comparison. Numbers to the right of the equation show the current state of the conveyor industry as compared to 1990. Figures above 100 indicate growth; while anything less indicates a contraction in the industry.

The Twelve-Month Index for Booked Orders was 128 in November. Index in November represents an increase of 2% from October 2010’s Twelve-Month Index of 126.

The CEMA Billed Sales (shipments) Index was 127 in November. Index in November represents a decrease of 9% from October 2010’s Index of 140. The November 2010 Index represents an increase of 35% from the November 2009 Index of 94.
