This proliferation of warehouse/DC robotics has come pretty fast and already has brought operational benefits for many logistics operations. And due to this early success, many more companies are offering robotics solutions today than just a couple years ago. So, what’s next?
Due to this new reality, companies with successful fulfillment operations aren’t just deploying one type of robot, but launching fleets of robotics from different vendors—and that elevates the importance of being able to more easily integrate solutions.
In this session, our speaker explains that the trend toward robotics from multiple providers has given rise to a new software niche that’s being called “multi-agent orchestration,” or platforms that sit between and integrate with business applications, heterogeneous fleets of robots, and other forms of automation.
The good news is that a recent Gartner survey showed that 86% of companies plan to increase their robotics fleet over time, and they’re looking at various robotics platforms. But the challenge remains: How do you integrate the work across a fleet of robots and integrate the robots with other systems?
