Preliminary March North America Class 8 net orders see declines
FTR reported that preliminary March net orders, at 18,200 units, were down 34% compared to February and off 4% annually. ACT reported that March preliminary North America Class 8 orders, at 17,300 units, were off 10,400 units, or roughly 40%, compared to February, and off 8.7% annually.

Preliminary North American Class 8 truck orders see annual increases in February
FTR reported that preliminary February net orders, at 25,700 units, were down 9% compared to January and headed up 11% annually. ACT reported that February preliminary North American Class 8 net orders, at 27,700 units, saw a 600-unit gain over January, while posting a 16% annual increase.

Preliminary North American Class 8 orders see gains
FTR reported that November preliminary orders, at 36,750 units, were up 32% compared to October and up 2% annually. CT reported that that preliminary North American Class 8 November orders, at 41,700 units, were up by 9,000 units compared to October and above the 32,700 units recorded in November 2022.

FTR reported that September preliminary orders, at 31,200 units, saw a 94% increase, from August to September. ACT reported that that preliminary North American Class 8 September orders—at 36,800 units—increased 67%, from August to September, marking its highest level for orders in the last year.

July preliminary Class 8 orders are strong
FTR reported that July preliminary orders, at roughly 13,500 units, exceeded expectations, while trailing June by 8% and topping July 2022 by 25%. ACT reported that preliminary North American Class 8 July orders, at 16,000, was up 45% annually.

Preliminary June Class 8 orders are mixed
FTR reported that June preliminary orders, at 13,800 units, beat expectations for the second straight month after six months of declines. ACT reported that preliminary North American Class 8 June orders—at 16,200 units—rose 5% annually and were up 4% compared to May, remaining seasonally soft, which it said was expected.

FTR reported that May preliminary orders, at 13,600 units, beat expectations, as orders had seen declines in six out of seven months through May, rising 9%, from April to May. ACT reported that preliminary North American Class 8 May orders—at 15,500 units—was up 10% annually and rose 29%, from April to May.

FTR reported that April preliminary net orders—at 12,050 units—were down 37% compared to March and down 20% annually, and ACT reported that preliminary North American Class 8 April orders—at 11,600 units—fell 39% compared to March and were off 27% annually.

FTR reported that February preliminary net orders—at 22,800—saw a 13% increase, from January to February, and a 10% annual gain, heading up for the first time in five months. ACT reported that preliminary February Class 8 net orders—at 26,300 units—rose 13% annually and were up 27% compared to January.

Preliminary January 2023 Class 8 net orders see declines
FTR reported that January preliminary January net orders—at 21,600 units—were down 25% compared to December, while rising 2% annually. ACT reported that January preliminary North American Class 8 orders came in at 18,400 units, well below December’s 30,400 unit preliminary tally and also trailing November, at 30,300 units.

FTR reported that preliminary December net orders—28,300 units—were down for the third consecutive month, decreasing 21% compared to November. ACT reported that December preliminary North American Class 8 orders came in at 30,300 units, down from November’s 33,000 unit preliminary tally, with both well below September and October, at 53,700 and 42,500, respectively.

ACT reported that November preliminary North American Class 8 orders came in at 33,000 units, down from October’s 42,500 units, for preliminary orders, and well below September’s 53,700 unit tally.

FTR reported that preliminary October North American Class 8 net orders—at 42,300 units—were below September’s preliminary record-high tally of 56,500. ACT reported that October preliminary North American Class 8 orders came in at 42,500 units, below September’s 53,700 units, which was also a new monthly high.
