Japan's largest home furnishing chain which operates over 400 stores was looking for a warehouse automation solution that can handle items such as furniture, curtains, bedding, dishes, and other interiors. In an increasingly difficult workforce environment; efficiency and speed in operations were needed to fulfill increasing volumes of online orders for same and next day deliveries. Hence there was a need for an innovative solution that can support expansion.

For the customer, their vision of 1,000 stores by 2022 and 3,000 stores by 2032 has to be a story of product innovation and technology adoption.

A GreyOrange Butler robotics system accelerated order fulfillment and using Artificial Intelligence the Butler able to keep the racks with the more popular items closer to the picking area, thereby increasing efficiency.
