Veeqo Acquires Parcel Delivery Startup ParcelBright

When merged, Veego and ParcelBright will be the largest parcel delivery platform in the U.K. based on its user base and service offering, enabling customers to save time, and save money when shipping their orders.

As reported by Steve O’Hear of TechCrunch, Veeqo, the Wales-headquartered company that offers e-commerce inventory software, has acquired London-based parcel delivery startup ParcelBright to bolster its shipping features.

Terms of the deal remain undisclosed, though I understand the acquisition includes ParcelBright’s tech and customer base.

Meanwhile, founders Daniel Lipinski and Carlos Vilhena will stay involved in the form of advisors to Veeqo, “both commercially and technically,” according to the announcement.

Backed by Forward Partners, Talis Capital, Avonmore Developments and Howzat Partners, after the startup closed a $1 million seed round in late 2014, ParcelBright targets small to medium sized e-commerce businesses with a SaaS to help get parcels out for delivery more quickly and cheaply via negotiated bulk discounts with shipping companies.

It also built a single modern and Restful API to enable integrations with those shipping companies, whose own software is often fairly antiquated and otherwise time consuming to interface with.

To that end, ParcelBright’s Lipinski tells me the service and software will be merged into Veeqo to improve the latter’s product offering and expand the number of courier companies plugged into their system.

That’s because Veeqo already has a delivery component to its software, in addition to its core inventory management features that help consolidate selling across multiple e-commerce channels including eBay, Amazon and a seller’s own website.

“Together it will be the largest parcel delivery platform in the U.K. based on its user base and service offering,” adds Lipinski.
