UPS Acquires Same-Day SaaS Delivery Management & Orchestration Technology Company Delivery Solutions

The acquisition provides customers access to carrier-independent, same-day delivery with plug-and-play options.

Orchestration Platform Enables Retail Omnichannel Delivery Options

What’s new: UPS has purchased Delivery Solutions, a Texas-based SaaS technology company offering retailers out-of-the-box solutions with access to:

  • Same-day delivery
  • Ship from store and distribution centers
  • Curbside  and in-store pickup
  • Post-purchase customer experience

Orchestrating Same-Day Delivery, Curbside, In-Store Pickup, and Post-Purchase Experiences

Delivery Solutions’ leading technology helps merchants offer their customers more flexibility and an engaging online purchasing experience as they increasingly look for an experience-driven omnichannel strategy.

Why it matters: Once a company plugs into the Delivery Solutions technology platform, they can easily connect to a global ecosystem of delivery companies in the same-day space.

This allows retailers and platforms to meet the specific delivery needs of their customers while maintaining complete control of their eCommerce brand experience.

What’s next: Delivery Solutions will continue to operate with its current leadership as an agnostic, multi-carrier platform.

It will be run independently and under the same name. Now combined with UPS’s capabilities, it will create new solutions to speed up growth for our customers by improving end-to-end online shopping experiences.

Go Deeper: This purchase supports UPS's customer-first strategy while positioning UPS to be a digital leader.

We’re focused on helping our customers navigate the digital commerce ecosystem quickly and effectively.

Dean Maciuba, the Managing Partner for Crossroads Parcel Consultants, wrote in his LinkedIn post;

“This is a brilliant move by UPS towards gaining insight into and the potential for same-day delivery, while not having to step in and manage a company/service where they have no experience. UPS also knows when to have an acquired company continue to run the company under the legacy name as UPS has been successful doing just this with the Rodie and Marken acquisitions. Finally, the purchase of Delivery Solutions fits in perfectly with the UPS goal of differentiating its service offerings to the customer by investing in technology and services that their primary competitor does not possess.”
