ADC: Technology company selected Top 100 workplaces in Southeastern Wisconsin

Lightning Pick Technologies announced selection by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel to the newspaper’s list of 2011 Top 100 Workplaces in Southeastern Wisconsin.

Today Lightning Pick Technologies announced their selection by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel to the newspaper’s list of 2011 Top 100 Workplaces in Southeastern Wisconsin. Lightning Pick was also given one of eleven special awards, and was named Best Work/Life Flexibility company in the top 100 winners.

Lightning Pick Technologies delivers advanced order picking technologies. Its best-in-class applications for Pick to Light, Put to Light, Pack to Light (Put to Store) Voice and RF systems support lean supply chain processes from manufacturing through order fulfillment.

For the second consecutive year the Journal Sentinel invited workers in the region to nominate their employers. Workplace consultant WorkplaceDynamics was enlisted to manage tens of thousands of completed employee surveys and analyze the results. The primary objective was to discover the best practices local companies used to successfully provide a fulfilling work environment. The other goal was to recognize the positive impact employee loyalty and quality of life had on the community at large, especially during an unstable economic period.

Lightning was ranked 10th out of the 49 small size businesses (149 employees or less) that comprised the overall Top 100. Furthermore there were 11 specialty categories, and Lightning Pick was named the “Best Work/Life Flexibility Company” out of all 100 small, medium and large groups included on the list. Jim Bast, Vice-President and General Manager accepted on Lightning Pick’s behalf at an awards breakfast ceremony that included appearances by Governor Scott Walker and Mayor Tom Barrett.

One testament to Lightning Pick’s excellent workplace culture is the company’s unbelievably low employee turnover rates. Workers reported having a dynamic environment which encourages everyone to work together and continually develop their skills at new technologies. The exceptionally long tenure of Lightning Pick’s employees also provides their customers with a depth of talent and experience that’s truly unique within their industry and ensures strong support.
