At yesterday’s ProMatDX keynote, a distinguished group of women in supply chain converged to share their career experiences and discuss how they successfully implemented, measured and showcased operational success (and sometimes challenged the status quo).

Moderated by Sheila Benny, president of Optricity Corporation, the panel included Megan Smith, CEO at Symbia Logistics; Erin Donnelly, director of supply chain development at The Home Depot; and Chaneta Sullivan, director of safety, quality and compliance for Chick-fil-A Supply.

Benny kicked off the session by introducing the panelists and discussing their impressive backgrounds in supply chain. “Through their leadership success stories, these panelists invite us on a journey into the pivotal moments of their careers,” said Benny, “and inspire us with plans for what the future holds, personally, organizationally, and for future leaders in the supply chain industry.”

During the Q&A with the panelists, Benny posed questions about supply chain operational leadership, the characteristics they consider prerequisites for orchestrating success in the modern supply chain, and how they keep up with the rapid changes impacting those operations. The group also talked about overcoming obstacles, achieving milestones and delivering proven strategies over time.

Throughout the session, Benny and the panelists shared operational leadership tips, practical takeaways to drive value for supply chains (specific to distribution and logistics operations), and examples of proven success strategies.

“As these talented supply chain experts shared their own stories of how they navigated their career paths and had the opportunity to influence others along the way,” Benny said, “we hope the success strategies stir a call-to-action for male and female supply chain leaders around the globe.”
