Following three declines over the previous five weeks, the national average price per gallon of diesel gasoline headed up this week, according to data issued by the Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration (EIA).
With a 1.1-cent gain, this week’s average came in at $3.073 per gallon. Last week, the national average fell 0.002 cents to $3.062, which came on the heels of a week’s 0.014-cent gain and a decline of 0.001 cents, for the week ending October 21.
On an annual basis, this week’s average is down 24.4 cents.
West Texas Intermediate Crude Oil is currently trading at $56.47 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
