A broad array of automatic identification and data capture (AIDC) solutions based on camera, laser and radio frequency identification (RFID) technologies are on display from SICK (Booth 1537).

“We’re highlighting track-and-trace systems that employ a variety of different technologies,” said John Ashodian, marketing manager for intralogistics. “When our package analytics software is added into the mix of those technologies, a company can gain much better visibility into the supply chain for improved efficiencies and cost savings—particularly in omni-channel retail.”

Ashodian emphasized SICK’s ability to engineer and deploy a multi-modal, integrated installation to maximize the benefits of each technology for a given application within a distribution center.

“The goal is to help a retailer improve the shopping experience that their customers have, from locating a package within a supply chain to getting an item through the fulfillment or returns process as quickly as possible,” he added.

ProMat 2015 is scheduled to be held March 23-26, 2014 at Chicago’s McCormick Place. The tradeshow will showcase the latest manufacturing, distribution and supply chain solutions in the material handling and logistics industry. Modern’s complete ProMat 2015 coverage.
