EIA reports national diesel average trends down for week of January 13
The national average price per gallon of diesel gasoline slipped for the week of January 13, according to data issued this week by the Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration (EIA).
With a 1.5-cent decline, the national average came in at $3.064, following a 1.0-cent increase to $3.079 for the week of January 6 over the $3.069 recorded for the week of December 30. This followed a 0.005-cent decline from the week of December 16, at $3.046, to the week of December 23, at $3.041.
On an annual basis, this week’s average is up 8.8 cents, topping last week’s 6.6-cent annual spread.
West Texas Intermediate crude oil is currently trading at $58.52 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
