EIA reports diesel average sees steep increase

Diesel prices head up for seventh straight week


The United States Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration (EIA) reported today that the national average price per gallon for diesel gasoline saw a steep increase this week.

Rising 7.2 cents, the national diesel average now stands at $3.385 per gallon. This marks the seventh consecutive week of increases during which time the average has gone up a cumulative 17.8 cents.

Compared to the same week a year ago, the average is up 60.9 cents.

West Texas Intermediate Crude oil is currently trading at $74.10 per barrel
