Cognex DataMan 503 Logistics Barcode Reader Tunnel Scan Application

The DataMan® product line from Cognex offers advanced barcode readers that combine the benefits of image-based readers with the ease of use and cost of laser scanners for your postal, parcel and package sorting operations.

Image-based Barcode Readers for the Logistics Industry DataMan barcode scanners consistently provide higher read rates than laser scanners and overcome other limitations of laser scanners, such as short product life, inability to adapt
to variations in package size and/or quality of barcodes.

DataMan systems combine the performance of image-based equipment with the cost and ease of use of lasers and can help the logistics industry.

The new DataMan 503 logistics barcode readers are configured for a five-sided scan tunnel. DataMan barcode readers deliver the highest read rates, provide performance feedback, and have a solid state design with no moving parts that can become worn and require repair or replacement. With patent-pending Xpand technology, now logistics, postal and parcel companies can install high performance image-based barcode reading technology at a similar, or less cost, than current laser scanner or line scan system costs.
