Biden, Trump infrastructure plans as different as the candidates themselves
If you go to JoeBiden.com and read the Democratic presidential candidate’s $2 trillion plan “to build a modern, sustainable infrastructure and an equitable clean energy future,” there is in stunning detail a blueprint for a sustainable future. By contrast, President Donald Trump’s website offers plans on how to vote, how to donate money, a three-minute video of “promises made, promises kept” and an online shop for Trump swag. There is no mention of infrastructure. This, despite the president...

USPS Taps Logistics Veteran Louis DeJoy As Next Postmaster General
The United States Postal Service (USPS) announced that it has named Louis DeJoy as its 75th Postmaster General and CEO. DeJoy will be replacing Megan Brennan, whom has been serving in the position since 2015, and will take over on June 15. The incoming USPS chief will be the fifth Postmaster General to come over from the private sector, going back to when the USPS, in 1971, became an independent establishment within the Executive Branch.

Trump Tweet raises the call for $2 trillion infrastructure package as part of coronavirus funding
With the myriad moving parts related to the ongoing coronavirus, or COVID-19 pandemic, it has seemed that a future plan relating to a new long-term federal surface transportation authorization would remain where it has seemingly been for a while, on the back burner.

Trump’s plan for Mexico tariffs does not sit well with U.S. business concerns
The topic of tariffs and the ongoing trade war has primarily involved the United States and China. But Mexico is now in the mix, too, albeit not formally yet, based on Tweets and a statement issued by President Trump yesterday. In short, Trump said that, effective June 10, the U.S. will impose a 5% tariff on all goods imported from Mexico. And he explained that this effort stems from the “ongoing illegal immigration crisis” at the Southern border.

Tariff and trade war tension continues to simmer based on Trump’s latest Tweets
That feeling that the United States-China “trade war” was going to come to some kind of a mutually beneficial resolution by late May or early June does not exactly seem like such a given, based on recent, you guessed it, Tweets issued by President Trump, right?

Trying to separate the facts from fiction when it comes to Trump and Amazon
In recent days, much has been made of President Trump’s comments, via Twitter (of course), squarely aimed at global e-commerce behemoth Amazon and how it apparently takes advantage of the United States Postal Service (USPS). Amazon Trump Comments, Trump Tweets about Amazon

$1.5 trillion infrastructure plan touted by Trump with no clear way to pay for it
One year after he first promised to make America’s highways great again, President Donald Trump again is touting what at first glance appears to be a bold $1.5 trillion infrastructure program. And once again, he makes no concrete way of paying for it. In his State of the Union address last night, Trump asked Congress to produce a bill that generates at least $1.5 trillion “for the new infrastructure investment we need.” But such a deal likely will be paid for...
