FedEx and national drugstore chain Walgreen Co. said yesterday that they are collaborating on a FedEx package pickup and drop-off services, which are now available at more than 7,500 United States-based Walgreens stores. The companies said this announcement comes on the heels of a long-term alliance agreement announced earlier this year “to offer convenient access to FedEx pickup and drop off at thousands of Walgreens locations across the country.”

Transportation and logistics bellwether FedEx said last week it has acquired Northwest Research Inc., a Salt Lake City, Utah-based inventory and research management firm. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

FedEx recently announced that they will be raising shipping rates in 2018 for FedEx Ground, FedEx Express and FedEx Freight by 4.9%. If that number sounds familiar, it should.

FedEx subsidiary TNT Express continues to deal with the pain and problems caused by the Petya technology virus, FedEx stated in a 10-K filing with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission yesterday.
