The Imperative for Effective Data Flow Governance in Response to Data Security

The Imperative for Effective Data Flow Governance in Response to Data Security, Risk Mitigation, and Compliance Requirements - Understanding how managed file transfer and API management support changes in integration strategy.

1 out of 4 organizations have failed a security audit - Will you be one of them?

Ovum Consulting asked hundreds of executive-level IT buyers from around the world some very tough questions about their ability to govern the flow of their enterprise data.

Their answers may surprise you. For instance:

  • 23% of respondents had failed a security audit within the last three years
  • 17% had ‘no confidence’ they could pass such an audit using their existing file transfer solutions
  • 4% of FTP-based file transfers fail, even though 32% of their business-critical processes rely on file transfer

With the average cost of a data breach now topping $3M, that’s a lot of risk. And much of it is due to the fact that 56% of respondents still use discrete solutions for on-premise application integration, B2B integration, and cloud integration, making true data flow governance impossible.

As a result many IT organizations are rethinking their integration strategy in response to complex data security and governance, and compliance requirements.

Read the Ovum report – The Imperative for Effective Data Flow Governance in Response to Security, Risk Mitigation and Compliance Requirements – to see how you stack up, and what you can do about it now.
